searched by date, place and subject. More than 800 photographs are added to the
archive daily.

Bookmobile
Description:
 The Columbia County Traveling Library bookmobile was purchased in 1996 with funds from Columbia County, an LSCA grant from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, and private contributions.
Thirty-three feet in length, it has a capacity for approximately 3,000 books, has a wheelchair lift, and is air conditioned. It carries a full selection of current children’s and adult books, best sellers, audio books, large print, and videos / dvds.
Visits are made to over 40 locations in Columbia County, including communities, daycares & preschools, senior citizens’ facilities, and schools. Most communities and preschools / daycares receive biweekly visits; others are monthly.
Bookmobile schedules are issued three times a year, in May, August, and December.

The Library headquarters in the County’s Perry Avenue building is closed for
two additional county designated holidays, Flag Day & Veteran’s Day.
The bookmobile operates as usual these two days. The bookmobile does not operate
during the Bloomsburg Fair week in September, or Christmas week in December. The
library headquarters is open during these two weeks, except for regularly
scheduled holidays.
The bookmobile operates all year round, except for holidays noted above.
Occasionally we are forced to cancel bookmobile trips due to winter weather or
emergency maintenance. If a bookmobile trip must be cancelled due to snow, ice,
or mechanical problems, an announcement will be aired on 930 AM or 106.5 FM
radio. If time permits, we may try to telephone you in advance. All books will
be renewed for the next scheduled bookmobile visit.
