Friends of the Library

Description & Activities:

The Friends of the Columbia County Traveling Library, a separately incorporated volunteer organization (501C3), was founded in 1991 to encourage people to read, and to support and promote the services of the library.  Through fund raising activities such as used book sales, food sales, quilt raffles, and membership dues, the Friends have provided special items to the library that are normally not included in the regular operating budget.  The Friends raised $4,500 for the new bookmobile in 1996. Each year, the Friends of the CCTL furnish materials for Summer Reading programs and present a substantial gift to support the Large Print Collection.

Meetings are held regularly on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 1pm at the library. For more details, contact the librarian at 387-8782.

The Friends are always in need of volunteers.  They are always happy to have the help of active participants, but even if there isn't time to be involved, they encourage everyone to join.
